Institutional share of quality and volume

The charts below show how the volume of submitted activity judged to be four star, and the volume judged to be at least three star, are distributed across institutions in REF 2021 and in REF 2014. The nature of the distribution is similar in the two exercises, indicating that the two exercises provide a similar degree of differentiation. The change in the largest shares between the two exercises reflect the strong performance across a wide set of HEIs in REF 2021.
