Institutional average results

The charts below indicate the average percentage four star, and the average percentage at three star or above, achieved by each HEI. To calculate these averages, the results for each submission are weighted according to the number of full-time equivalent (FTE) staff in the submission. The charts indicate:

• That excellence was found in institutions with submissions of all sizes.
• Three quarters of HEIs have over 15 per cent of research activity judged to be world-leading (four star); one quarter have at least 41 per cent of research activity judged to be world-leading (Four star).
