1. I am writing to set out the revised arrangements for making submissions to the 2021 Research Excellence Framework (REF), following the changes we made to the timetable in light of COVID-19.
2. This letter follows the funding bodies’ recent review of the level of disruption being experienced due to COVID-19 and whether further contingency arrangements for the REF may be necessary. I have therefore set out the outcomes from this review, and have annexed further guidance and information for submitting instiutions.
