REF Director's report

REF 2021 was delivered by the REF team, based at Research England, on behalf of the four UK funding bodies. This report provides the REF Director’s review of the operational delivery of the exercise by the REF team, across the period from its inception in 2017 until its completion in 2022.

 

Main panel overview reports

Each of the four main panels and its sub-panels have produced an overview report detailing how they carried out the assessment, and providing observations about the assessment and the state of research within their discipline areas. A summary report across the four main panels is also provided.

IDAP report

IDAP has produced a final report on the measures to support interdisciplinary research in REF 2021. The report sets out the work undertaken by IDAP during the development and assessment of REF 2021, provides observations about the effectiveness of the measures to support interdisciplinary research, and makes recommendations for the future.

EDAP report

EDAP has produced a final report on the measures to support equality and diversity in REF 2021. The report sets out how EDAP carried out its work during the REF assessment, provides observations about the effectiveness of the equality and diversity measures, and makes recommendations for the future.
