Town hall meetings

In January, the four UK funding bodies held a series of ‘town hall’ meetings across the UK. The purpose of these meetings was to present the outcomes of the consultation on REF 2021 and provide details on the decisions that have been taken on a number of high-level aspects of the framework. Information was also provided on the timeframe for the development of further guidance.

The meetings took place in venues across the UK on the below dates:

8 January: etc. venues, 51-53 Hatton Garden, London EC1N 8HN
12 January: The Studio, Birmingham, 7 Cannon Street, Birmingham B2 5EP
15 January: The Studio, Glasgow, 69 Hope Street, Glasgow G2 6AE

Registration was open to individuals from higher education institutions and other groups and organisations with an interest in the conduct, quality, funding or use of research.

Places were limited to a maximum of two participants per institution. HEIs were responsible for ensuring that individuals are registered for one date/location only.
